Online and On Your Time
At Concordia St. Paul University, we understand that pursuing a doctorate degree can be a significant decision in one’s academic and professional life, which is why we offer an online program that can be completed on your own time. The best part is that you never have to come to campus, which means that you can earn your degree from the comfort of your home, wherever you are in the world. Our asynchronous program means that there’s no set time for you to log in to class, providing you with the flexibility you need to balance your personal and professional commitments. Whether you’re a working professional or have a family, our program is designed to fit your schedule. Additionally, we offer resources to help you find the necessary resources for labs or research, no matter where you live. So, if you’re looking for a flexible, online program that can help you achieve your academic goals, CSP Global is the perfect choice for you.
Top Notch Faculty
At Concordia St. Paul University, the faculty members are renowned for their expertise and experience in their respective fields. They are not only mentors but also experienced educators who bring a lot of knowledge and background to the table. The faculty is dedicated to providing students with a supportive and student-focused environment to help them achieve their academic goals. In addition to their mentoring roles, the faculty members also serve as academic advisors. With over 50 advisors to select from, students have the freedom to choose who they want to work with based on their backgrounds and experience. This process also applies to selecting the members of their dissertation committee.
Different Concentration Areas
CSP Global offers students four different concentrations for their EdD and PhD programs, which are exercise science, exercise and sports nutrition, exercise physiology, and strength and conditioning. While both programs offer the same concentrations, there are some differences between them. The EdD program is suitable for those who want to apply their research in real-world situations and work directly with clients. It is an ideal program for entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and individuals who want to teach at the post-secondary level. The PhD program, on the other hand, is more focused on research and is ideal for individuals who want to conduct in-depth research or enter a career in academia or research. The program offers additional research classes, which will prepare students to conduct and publish their own work. Regardless of which program you choose, both will prepare you for leadership roles within your field and add that doctorate credential to your experience and knowledge.
Transfer Friendly
Concordia St. Paul University is a transfer-friendly university that offers great opportunities to students to transfer their credits from previously completed courses. For instance, if you have a master’s degree in a related field, we will consider up to 12 credit hours, and if you’re an alumni of CSP, we’ll consider up to 24 credit hours from your master’s coursework. If you hold a doctorate in a related field, a chiropractor, or a physical therapist, we’ll consider up to 21 transfer credits. This opportunity to transfer credits is going to do two great things – it can potentially shorten the length of your program and reduce the cost of your degree, which we understand are important factors for students. CSP is one of the very few schools that offer this transfer credit opportunity, making it an exciting part of our program.
Application Process
Applying to Concordia St. Paul’s doctorate program in Kinesiology is a straightforward process. The good news is that there is no need to take the GRE or GMAT standardized tests, which can be a headache for many applicants. The online application is free and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. However, it is essential to identify two people who can recommend you, either professional or academic, and provide their contact information, including email, while filling out your application. The recommenders will receive an email with a form to fill out and submit back. Additionally, applicants need to submit a professional goal statement, a writing sample with APA citations and a reference page, and their CV or resume. The only required document at the time of application are the email addresses of your recommenders.
